AWAKENING of the senses RITUAL
In the "Awakening of the Senses" Practice you will be doing a gentle playful ritual to awaken all senses in each other.
Having your senses activated and opened, one at the time, can increase your sensitivity and openness to pleasure, and can have a deeply relaxing effect on the body.
There is a spirit of innocence in this practice; you are explorers together; touching and feeling as if you were discovering your own and each others body for the first time.
PHASE 1: PREPARE AND SET UP
The person who is in charge of the Date Night will make the room beautiful, warm and inviting. Create a space that feels a bit 'out of ordinary life' (but don't put too much pressure on yourself;-))
Start with a Fears, Desires, Loves and decide if you want to be naked, be in your underwear or have your clothes on for this practice (and feel free to change during the practice to whatever feels best!)
Decide who is going to give first and who will receive first.
When you are set up put on some music that you love and start on the practice audio.
PHASE 2: RECEIVING AND GIVING ROUND 1 (guided in the audio)
You will start with the receiver sharing how they would like to be touched. The receiver will close their eyes.
Step 1: TOUCHING
Giver; touch your partner in the ways that they shared they would love. Also trust your intuition, and trust your partner to let you know if something doesn't feel good. Explore, be playful, be soft, be loving. Touch as if you were touching for the first time.
Receiver; take in the touch, feel free to share with your partner if anything could be different. Allow receiving. Welcome every experience. When emotions arise, breathe and let them be.
STEP 2: SMELLING
Giver; let your partner smell the smells that you have for them. Receiver; breathe and smell as if you were smelling for the first time.
STEP 3: TASTING
Giver; let your partner taste the foods and/or drinks that you have for them. Receiver; taste and take it in as if you were tasting for the first time.
STEP 4: LISTENING
Giver; cradle or gently stroke your partner, and whisper words of love in their ear. Receiver; take in the words of love and appreciation.
STEP 5: SEEING
Receiver; open your eyes and meet your partners eyes. Look into each others eyes as if you were seeing each other for the first time.
PHASE 3: RECEIVING AND GIVING ROUND 2 (guided in the audio)
You will switch roles and repeat the steps.

PHASE 4: RECAP AND INTEGRATE
Do a recap together; sharing what was good, what you like more of and what was challenging.
Do what feels good for integration; maybe you want to journal together or create something that symbolizes this ritual.
No matter how this practice went, make sure to take time to thank yourself and each other for doing this practice together, for your willingness to show up and be vulnerable, for your dedication to your intimacy, for your courage to meet each other in the unknown.
