When Love isn’t a Fairytale...

Despite the shiny pictures, this love story has know many non-shiny moments.

Doubts, arguments, betrayal, unfulfilled desires..

We go through many ups and downs.

As any love story does.

The point of a relationship is not just to create a good life together, although the importance of goodness is not to be underestimated.

But without an understanding of the relationship as container for healing, any goodness will crumble.

When past trauma, undigested emotions and unfulfilled longings show up we can’t rely on just goodness.

And that is ok!

In the midst of confusion and (emotional) storms is where our teamwork, OUR PARTNERSHIP, gets to grow.

It’s where we practice our relational skills and jiu jitsu.

But not without support.

We have mentors, elders and friends who are ready to stand for love when we feel like we can’t.

Who mirror the potential of our relationship when we loose trust.

Who ask us critical questions when our ego’s take over.

If there’s one thing that I love it is to give the gift of holding and support to other other couples.

Not because I know it all, but because I LIVE AND LOVE it all.

If you’re curious what support for your relationship could look like reach out to me!

PS This particular picture does show very authentic happiness between Troy and I. Taken on our 3-year wedding anniversary when we reflected on the last year and honestly could say: “Wow, we’ve grown a lot…”
